On September 16, 1810, Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla gave the famous call now known as “El Grito de Dolores." We now celebrate Mexico's independence from Spanish rule, seeking freedom and liberty for all, including those living in San Antonio — a part of Spain at the time. Yesterday evening we were joined by the Consul General of Mexico in San Antonio and many more for a beautiful celebration at El Grito Y Fiestas Patrias.
