🍎🍊no waste fall scent diy potpourri🍊🍎 i’ve always loved making a diy, affordable, and clean fall potpourri, but i’ve never liked the fact that i waste apples and oranges while doing so. enter : the no waste version! take your freshly picked apples from the apple orchard (if you’re able) and peel them to make a homemade apple pie! then save the peels + cores, throw them in a pot with orange peels (eat the oranges; we could all use some vitamin c this time of year!!!), top it all with water, sprinkle cinnamon heavily on top and throw on some sticks, bring to a boil, and then simmer! your home will smell like freshly baked apple pie all day long. i keep it on the stove for a couple days and just refill the pot with new water and reboil each morning. (i’ve also heard you could maybe make some applesauce with the mix, but haven’t tried that one yet!) i hope this makes your homes smell heavenly this fall! 🍊🍎
