Something we’ve all probably seen and taken for granted is this very particular ice cream scoop. It’s the scoop of choice for many ice cream parlours since 1935 🍨 This is a patented design from @zerollscoops and it’s actually not just the particular shape that is so unique. If you’ve never handled one of these you might not know there’s a liquid in the handle. It’s a non toxic, water soluble oil that sloshes around and conducts the heat from your hand to the ice cream. It’s kind of genius and something overlooked in plain sight. This is not sponsored, although of course you can go to my website to find a link to all the equipment I use, including this classic scoop. My new scoop (that I didn’t need because the old one will probably last indefinitely) is a different gauge than the original one I had. The company provides various sizes from 1010 to 1030. The 1020 is the one used most in parlours. I got the 1012 and already had the 1016. I wanted to do a size comparison and so I chose a chunky ice cream to see how well they handle the difference textures. I can a see very slight difference in the scoop size but I don’t think it’s very meaningful. This is so much information for something so simple and it makes you realize how much we rely on good design and engineering to make our lives better. Scoop one up today! 😉 And for those just curious about the S’mores Pop Tart Ice cream, it’s very sweet and apparently illegal in Europe. 😉 I give it 6/10 only because I imagine I’d get a much better s’more flavor from a real s’more but it’s good in its own special way. 🙃 . . . #icecream #icecreamscoop #smores #smorespoptarts #poptarts #dessert #icecreamparlour #zeroll #zerollscoop #homemadeicecream
