In the past few days two black trans women have been killed; Riah Milton and Dominique Rem’mie Fells. Now Trump is attacking the civil rights protections for transgender people. He announced this on the anniversary of the Pulse night club massacre, during pride month. This is deliberate. Trans lives are in danger. So when JK Rowling tweets her ignorant transphobia, questioning the validity of their existence and identity, it is hugely damaging. Trans men are men. Trans women are women. Non-binary people are non-binary. And they all deserve to be protected.
