Did you know the Oberoi has a beautiful hotel in Marrakech? It opened just before the pandemic hit, so it's making waves only now! It's built on a former working farm so it has 1500 olive trees, and orchards of tangerine (they make their own olive oil and marmalade!). The design is based on the iconic Ben Youssef madrasa: 200 local artisans spent two years carving the intricate patterns you see on the walls and ceilings. Rooms overlook fountains, villas come with private pools. It feels very authentically Moroccan, but has the light, height and space that Mr Oberoi always champions. I didn't get to stay long, but it felt really wonderful to walk in and see the Oberoi name here in this magical city.
