Sarah Nurse is changing the game for BIPOC and female hockey players across Canada, using her platform to fight against racism and sexism in the sport. Growing up, she built her skills playing on boys’ teams. Her teammates were like brothers to her, but she found herself dealing with racist and sexist prejudice from their parents. Ignoring those negative voices, Sarah went on to blaze a new trail for the next generation of women in hockey. Today, Sarah is a champion with Team Canada, and currently sits on the board of the PWHPA. She is a beacon of boldness and courage to millions across Canada — and her story is inspiring to all.
