I cannot express how incredibly PROUD I AM right now of everyone involved in this project! In 2020 @bribelser and I set off to tell an empowering story about a black woman choosing her JOY while battling with the stigma of “Black Tax”. From this we birthed our baby (in short film form lol) @jouvertfilm ! This is my second short film I’ve created, directed, and EP’d and each time it’s getting better and better. This journey from inception to now has been a FEAT, nothing short of a MASTER CLASS. The lessons I’ve personally learned along the way are invaluable! With this being said I’m so happy to share with you all the first 3 film festivals we’ve been invited to and will be screening in! @hollyshorts , pinewood’s First Time Film makers sessions, and my personal favorite @dcblackfilmfest ! I cannot wait to share what we’ve worked SO hard on with you all and especially can’t wait to screen it AT HOME in DC! It’s literally such a dream. Thank YOU so much to everyone who donated and supported this pandemic passion project. It means THE WORLD! 🙏🏾🤍 My prayer is that this story is empowering to whoever see’s it and this journey is encouraging to anyone else pursuing those tasks that God whispers to us in our sleep ✨
