Michael Armitage, Vision II, 2022 – available to buy now!⁠ ⁠ We are excited to launch Turner Contemporary Editions with a new, limited edition 13-colour lithograph print by @michael_armitage_studio, produced here in Margate with the wonderful @countereditions.⁠ ⁠ Michael Armitage is considered one of the leading painters of his generation, known for his powerful and lyrical oil paintings on Lubugo, a traditional bark cloth from Uganda. He weaves narratives drawn from Western art history, historic and cultural events, personal memories and aspects of East African culture and folklore into his paintings. This new limited edition print is based on the painting Vision (2013), which was included in his exhibition ‘Peace Coma’ at Turner Contemporary in 2017, Armitage’s first show in a UK public gallery.
