HIIT workout💥
🧠Today’s Brain Health Tip: Get to know the brain health benefits of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)?🏃🏻♀️
👩🏻🔬Scientists call this exercise-induced neuroprotection.
🏝Here at the Panama Brain Health Retreat, Stacy @fisher.fitness leads us in her unique take on HIIT. She makes it fun!😅
👉🏽Scroll to the last slides to see a graphic of how this type of exercise may work to protect the brain:
⤴️neurogenesis especially in the hippocampus (memory center)
⬇️ β-amyloid & neuro oxidative-inflammatory stress
⤴️brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) to build synapses and neuroplasticity
Create your own HIIT workout using Stacy’s formula:
🏃🏻♀️Beginner: 30 seconds high intensity (get your heart rate up) + 1 minute rest
🏃🏿♀️🏃🏿♀️Advanced: 45 seconds high intensity + 15 seconds rest
🧠Do 4 rounds of 6 exercises with a full minute break between rounds
for 30 minutes total. Always warm up and cool down.

Do you HIIT? What’s your favorite move?👇🏽
