We're thrilled to announce L.A. Dance Project's 10th Anniversary Gala is sold out. We can't wait to welcome guests for a magical night of dance on the 29th of October. Led by Artistic Director Benjamin Millepied, L.A. Dance Project has built a thriving home for world-class dance in Los Angeles' Downtown Arts District. Fostering emerging local artists, with an emphasis on amplifying the voices of women and artists of color, LADP believes that dance not only adds to the soul of the city, but reflects it. LADP strives to push the art form forward by putting dance in the hands of people who may not encounter it otherwise. In the past ten years, LADP has accomplished the following: - Built a home in DTLA where we create new work and self-present to our community, reaching an audience representing 62% of LA county zip codes - Grown to a company of 18 full-time dancers - Performed 47 dance works: 29 new commissions for the stage, 8 revivals, and 10 new site-specific and special projects - Toured in over 100 cities across five continents - Collaborated with countless artists such as: Mark Bradford, Barbara Kruger, Charles Gaines, Sterling Ruby, Liam Gillick, Nico Muhly, Bryce Dessner, Alessandro Satori, and Njideka Akunyili Crosby - Ran an annual Summer Dance Intensive in partnership with Everybody Dance LA! for 4 years running, the most recent in collaboration with LA Phil's YOLA - Built an artist residency program serving emerging artists traditionally underrepresented in the field - Performed in LA at Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, The Theatre at Ace Hotel, Union Station, Hauser & Wirth, The Hammer Museum, MOCA, The Wallis, and The Schindler House - Offered Health Insurance to all dancers and staff starting in 2020. #wemovetomoveyou #ladpx10 #adecadeofdanceinlosangeles @benjaminmillepied @vancleefarpels @lucindalent @cassandra_krause_la
