We're glad to see our data on sexual harassment being shared with the CPS's new guidance, because it means your voices are being listened to. But it's not as simple as just asking survivors to report sexual harassment. In our survey last year, where over 95% of you told us you don't report sexual harassment to authorities... !!️55% said they didn't think the incident was serious enough to report !!️45% said they didn't think reporting would help (e.g. nothing would be done about it, the offender would not be found or charged, etc) !!️30% said reporting was not worth the hassle (e.g. It would take too long, I may be asked to provide evidence, I may be asked too many questions at the police station, etc) And hundreds of you told us you didn't think you would be believed, didn't want anyone to know about the incident or felt ashamed, or you were worried about retaliation. Here we're sharing just a few of the thousands of responses you've sent us explaining why you don't report. It's not as simple as just asking survivors to report. And it's not just about the law. We are asking public authorities to commit to systemic change, including preventative measures that are proven to work, and better training to deal with reports. Because more of us will report when we can trust the system. Join the campaign by adding your name to our open letter #linkinbio #SafeSpacesNow 💙
