We’re once again joining forces with our pals @corkandbean, this time to bring you… The Imaginary Friends Juried Show! 🌀 This month-long exhibition is set to feature YOUR fictional friends. 🙂‍↕️ Our Black Cat Juried Show this spring was such a silly success, we’re bring the structure along with us! This is what we lovingly joke is a ‘pretend-cious’ event. While this show will be juried (as in having a panel of judges awarding prizes at our opening night ceremony), it will NOT be hierarchical. This means, we will not be rewarding 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. In fact, we will not be awarding work on anything other than vibes- that’s right, categories are completely nonsensical! You may win an award for most menacing void or silliest billy- who’s to say- it’s arbitrary! While we want to create opportunities for artists to experience the professional art world, we don’t necessarily want to participate in its often oppositional nature. This is our way of practicing institutional structure, but remaining ridiculous and keeping art FUN! So- professional artists and art enthusiasts alike, all are welcome to join. No, you don’t have to be a seasoned artist.
