Last month we celebrated #WorldChimpanzeeDay! Each day the Jane Goodall Institute works to provide hopeful futures for chimpanzees and other wildlife. Chimpanzees are endangered, which is why it’s so important that we spread awareness about them so that people like you can help us take action! Did you know that chimpanzees communicate vocally, just like us? Chimpanzees use a variety of vocals calls that mean different things and are understood by other chimpanzees in their communities. One of the most famous types of calls is called a pant hoot, a special call that is unique to every chimpanzee! Just like we use names, pant hoots are used by chimpanzees to introduce themselves!
