Something that I visit frequently throughout the year is the NPR Book Concierge.
It's essentially an archive of what NPR deems the best books of a given year that is interactive in the best of ways. Breaking the selected books down in all kinds of categories that a book nerd like myself gets joyfully lost in—not to mention that it is a great way to add to this book addiction I own.
The Book Concierge has nothing to do with this post, but NPR does. So when @ulabeast reached out asking if I could participate in this "What great book by a Black author should be brought to the screen next?" prompt I knew immediately I wanted to contribute. I just had to make sure I got it right and I think I did.
Parable of the Sower is a Black story that belongs on the screen—just like all of Octavia's stories belong on any platform where people go to look for stories.
You go tap the link in my bio to see who I think should be a part of this Adaptation if/when some folks decide to bring it to life.
Thank you again, Neda for your invite and your patience.
Thank you to whoever you are if you are still reading.
