That crust! Nobody is making pizza that’s quite like Mel’s: Lightweight, delicate but fun to chew and full of flavor. The margherita is very classical but I am looking forward to more seasonal improvisations like the asparagus pizza. And while I’ve griped about sundaes taking over dessert menus, I won’t ever complain about Georgia Wooder’s sundaes at Mel’s, like the one wearing a hat of shaved Neapolitan tri-color cookies.
