Yesterday, I got a chance to celebrate my mom as she entered her 63rd journey around the sun. ⁣ ⁣ Growing up, I was so embarrassed and ashamed of my mom, who she was and who she wasn’t, her disability and I allowed what other people said to frame my view of her.⁣ ⁣ I would have never imagined the heart change, and then I had Wisdom and changed who I hung around and boom. There’s something about having your own children that humbles you and shows you just how sacrificial motherhood is. Watching my mom become a grandma - and just how nurturing, thoughtful and sweet she is, in HER way, and watching Wisdom love her so well for who she is as she is, made me fall in love with her and taught me so much about loving without expectation. ⁣ ⁣ My mom didn’t raise me, she couldn’t, but she made way for this beautiful life I get to live and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to love her well and the legacy I’m creating that honors her choices.⁣ ⁣ How something starts isn’t how it has to end if we meet a situation where it is and stay open.⁣ ⁣ Just a peek into a complicated story that I decided to make simple and I’m so proud of how it’s coming together.⁣ ⁣ Any complicated stories in your life that you finally decided to make simple??
