Long post.🩸💋 When I was told that I’m going to wear a robe at the beginning of my solo Come Thru, I immediately told @usher I wanna wear Kimono : Japanese traditional clothes. I am Japanese. I love my country, culture & that’s where I grew up and where I wanna represent.🗼 Most of times when we work as a backup dancer, we have to wear what we are provided but I always have been wanting to wear that represent who I am, keep being myself on the stage. But when I told him about I wanna represent my flag🇯🇵, he straight told me I can & got a few kimonos right before the show. And he let me wear my OWN kimono I brought from Japan. I just wanna share this because I’ve been just realizing how grateful I am that I could represent my identity on the stage in the states.🇺🇸 Thank Ush, @rioshow__ @aakomon & @gotamydance for respecting me as an artist and letting me be who I really am on the stage.
