"The book I brought to the shoot is A Ghost in the Throat by Doireann Ní Ghríofa. I read it during a week I spent alone upstate in late March and the time and space away from others allowed my brain to depopulate and after a couple days, it was just myself, Doireann Ní Ghríofa, and Eibhlín Dubh Ní Chonaill, who–one of the subjects of the book–is an Irish women thought to be the author of “Caoineadh Airt Uí Laoghaire” an 18th-century Irish poem passed down orally until it was written down."
