Did you know that Santiago Parra’s creative process is inspired by the Surrealists? Surrealism was an artistic movement of the 20th Century in which artists focused on the representation of illogical scenes and ideas coming from their subconscious mind. Surrealists developed a method of 'automatism' in which the artist suppresses conscious control over the making process. To record his transcendental journey, Parra similarly enters a trance-like state in which the technique of automatism is central.
