@dvs.310 where do I even start?! 💗✨️ The hardest part of the lead up to the L.O.V.E. Awards was how to figure out who to ask to attend --- specifically, intentionally --- more than just a general share on social media & a come if you want to/can attitude. Who do I want there? Who would it make me happiest to have there? Who do I think will be encouraged by being there? Who do I see as part of the next generation of pillars? How many tickets can I afford? All valid questions. All part of my thought process. And like this gut feeling that I couldn't shake, Daija was one. But I had run out of tickets. And I knew I was still getting Ubers for some guests. So I didn't say anything. My nonprofit budget is small, friends. 🫠 So I kept it to myself. The morning of the L.O.V.E. Awards, someone couldn't make it. My heart was sad for two reasons, that they couldn't be there, and that I didn't know soon enough to tell Daija. Fast forward to 11:30am, and the event started in 30 minutes. Daija texted me how proud she was and that she'd be watching virtually. I told her I wished I would've known sooner, for her to take the ticket someone else couldn't use. She said, "I'M THERE!!" THIRTY MINUTES before go. And no way of knowing if I'd be the first award up. I'm there, so simple, but so meaningful. She came. She made it. Because that's who she is. The next generation of pillars. There in a moments notice. With nothing but love. Watch out for her! She's a force. And I'm so glad I'm on her team!! 🩷🩷🩷 Birthday blessings, Daija! 🎂🎉
