This event was born as a spark of hope in a moment of great loss. As we cleared out our old studio space in June 2020, not knowing what lie ahead nor if there would ever be another VoxDen, @meghanshimek came by the space to help pack up. As we cut off the ropes that wrapped the old hashira pole, she grabbed a handfull of them and said “one day you’ll have a new space and I’ll weave a piece for it using these rope pieces” . 😭😭😭. So: the time has come. And! We decided it would happen during a rope jam so that folks can come and witness the woven piece come together. Join us for a very special Sunday afternoon July 24 and soak in the magic of weaving stories & memories together. This will include, of course, rope. And also a special session with fiber artist @mebissima arm-knitting a throw blanket. We will even have over-size frames for attendees to create temporary rope art on!
