Join us Monday, August 1st at 7 PM, for a discussion, reception, and art sale with artist and humanitarian, Álvaro Enciso. For the past decade, Enciso has been working on his project, “Donde Mueren los Sueños,” placing secular crosses created by the artist at the locations where remains of migrants have been recovered. Álvaro has brought attention to more than 4,000 people who have died in the desert of Southern Arizona on their quest of the “American Dream.” Álvaro’s talk will take place in the gallery featuring Brian Maguire’s exhibition, In Light of Conscience and will be followed by a reception in MAM’s lobby. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Enciso and purchase his works of art. All proceeds will go toward furthering Álvaro’s project to honor and commemorate migrants who have died in the Sonoran Desert, and to support the families of those who did not arrive.
