What inherited narratives are we carrying about our bodies at certain stages of our lives either through our female lineage, media, society?
Sometimes these stories are unspoken or don’t even reflect our own story. When we take on these stories as ours they squash out the reality of our lived experience.
What’s the impact of those stories and how they live in our bodies and how we move our bodies in the world. Unpeel the layers, the contractions around those stories, step away from those, while still honouring the women we’ve learnt them from. How do I want to feel in my body? How can we rewrite them from a place of embodied connection.
So take this opportunity to connect with your body - placing hand on heart and belly, pause, breath and notice where you are called to witness.
This act of really listening - deeply - to ourselves also involves noticing the stories that you hold. I know this can cause resistance, numbing, grief and shame but in our discomfort there is so much learning. Acknowledging and releasing the emotional stronghold of these contracted states open us to the possibility of living from a place of truth and love. It is from this place that we can rewrite our own stories.
