“Spirituality has helped us to survive.” Indigenous grandmother and wisdom keeper Blanca Andrade from the Nasa people in #Colombia shares her perspective on the fundamental importance of spirituality in Indigenous resistance. Blanca is a member of her community’s Indigenous guard in the dangerous region of #Cauca. She is part of the Indigenous Regional Council of Cauca (Consejo Regional Indígena del Cauca @caucacric), an Indigenous organization using innovative strategies to deal with violent conflicts and to claim political rights. Colombia has become one of the world’s deadliest places for land rights defenders since a power vacuum emerged after the government signed a historic peace agreement with FARC rebels.
