Feeling more cynical or pessimistic lately? There’s nothing wrong with you.
Here’s a line I often share when I talk about optimism:
Optimists build the planes. Pessimists build the parachutes.
We need both. Pessimism isn’t a failure of mindset — it’s protective. It’s realistic. It notices risk, builds guardrails, and keeps us safe when the world feels uncertain.
So if you’re feeling more cautious or skeptical right now, that doesn’t mean you’ve lost your optimism. It means your brain is doing its job.
Even a Practical Optimist knows: this world needs the dreamers and the parachute-builders. #optimism #practicaloptimism #doctorsuevarma
