After years of talking about starting a nonprofit for Metal nerds, I finally can say I f’ing did it!!! @headbangforscience is an official 501(c)(3) charity ready to do some really cool shit for the Metal community. #HeadbangForScience provides a annual scholarship award to a graduating high school senior, majoring in science/medicine, has financial need, 3.5 GPA⬆️, and is passionate about Metal music. The 1st and only public charity dedicated to headbangers who excel in science & want to purse a medical career. The board of directors includes a Grammy award winning artist, the biggest rock fest promoter, +other music industry leaders all wanting to give back to the heavy music community through a unique & academically motivating program. Finally diehard Metalheads can achieve national recognition +💵 for their educational achievements. The idea came to me in a dream Sept 2014 while living in NJ. I woke up one morning, paid to start a nonprofit & after days of filling out e-forms, I quickly realized that it was a LOT OF WORK. But in my ❤️ I knew I had to do something. Fast forward to the pandemic, and the idea resurrected itself deep in my soul, and this time I was FAR BEYOND DRIVEN to make my dream come true. I wanted to be a Pharmacist. I’m a CHEM major from UofAZ & won several scholarships b/c we were poor & I had sick grades. That’s where I started radio as a passion project, no idea it would be my destiny. Went to grad school in Memphis @ UofTN College Of Pharmacy to get my PharmD. Instead I got job @ local FM rock station, & after a year I won industry award for “Best Metal Director”...the rest is history. If it wasn’t for my education, I would NEVER have this metallically blessed life. I want to give back to our Metal family, help inspire kids to kick ass in school, and set them up on a path for success. If I can influence a student to 🖤 Metal AND their grades, we ALL win.
