Like every thing in life there will be risks involved in your daily life choices. My choices may look like a higher risk than the average person’s but really more people die by falling coconuts, jellyfish, toaster, dogs, and mosquitoes than by sharks. Yet the fear of sharks keeps people from wanting to do more to protect this beautiful key stone species from extinction. What I do with sharks is hazardous but it is calculated and has a goal to get people to replace fear with facts, that humans are not on the natural menu selection. Sharks are not targeting people as a food source. Instead they are keeping our oceans ecosystem alive and healthy. Yes mistakes happen and a shark my bite a human but considering how many people go into the ocean, splashing, acting like a hurt injured animal, it amazes me how little mistakes sharks make. I on the other hand are not as perfect and this is closest I have come to making a mistake with shark ID Nikki. I’m trying to keep her from biting the engines in this clip and potentially hurting her self, but when she really wants something there only so much I can do. Most of the time if I put my hand on her lower jaws she will follow my lead.
