“Acceptance” is a big word in Recovery. Accepting with grace and minimal struggle... not giving voice to impossible demands. I get that. But acceptance is not always approval... And when I got the call on July 15th that one of the most generous and important men in my life had passed away, my heart protested. Not fair. Too soon!
Michael James Jackson was a brother. At A&M records he produced my first two albums. Produced records as uncluttered, vulnerable and transparent as possible. I wanted camouflage! He wanted nothing between the listener and the song. He brought in the best players in the world... their gifts in their Hearts as much as their hands. His touch was ... almost parental. Gentle as a lullaby. He made hugely successful albums with Kiss and taught me studio manners. And I witnessed a creative process that changed my life. I love you Michael. Cathey, thank you for sending this photo and for filling his life with so much love. He was absolutely glowing with that joy. ❤️🙏🏻
