As I gear up this morning for my LAST TINA SHOW (Wow😭) I stand in an immensely overwhelming bubble of gratitude. When I think about the reasons I chose theatre as my profession it isn’t just because of the cathartic feeling I get from performing- though baby performing for me has always been an outer body experience and I wouldn’t have it any other way okay? Thank you Lord lol. I chose this profession because of the community it builds. It is the community that lifts a show. It is the community that builds it from the ground up. The crew, the costumers, the hair and makeup team, the front of house, the ushers, the company managers, the producers, the general managers, the cast of people hired to do the show 5,6,7,8 times a week- everyone is stepping into their gifts to build something greater. Something, that if it’s done just so, will leave an impact on at least one person walking in hoping to receive this cathartic experience and leaving with just that and maybe more. So for my last show I just want to say THANK YOU. I came into this as an Ensemble member, and walked out playing TINA and you all have been there with me every step of the way. You all stood with me in my highest moments and checked on me, sent me energy, wrapped me in love, and prayed prayers over me in my lowest times. You’ve lifted me and pushed me to be this leader that I didn’t even realize I was capable of being. I could go on and on. And truly y’all know I would- but today I give you my heart and I hope you feel every bit of it. I wouldn’t be the leader I am today without you all. And I am forever grateful.
