On days like these I take refuge in a poem by Paul Harvey.
-14° days and you've got cattle depending on you for survival during these trying times. It's easy to want the 9-5 job. It's easy to want the desk job that calls work off for a bad weather day. It's easy to take the fun little weekend get away.
But there is no greater, more noble thing in life to do, than to be apart of something that helps feed the world.
So here we are, -14° on a Sunday at 8am & it's up and going to feed cattle and tend calves and chop ice so they have access to water. Trying to start up vital machinery so you can mix a new ration, and oh walking a half mile because the access road is buried in a snow drift.
So God Made a Farmer.
