In recent weeks, news has come of a 10-year-old girl who was impregnated by her rapist. The young girl had to then travel from Ohio to Indiana to have an abortion due to new restrictions across certain states in the US. Her story eventually reached Congress where, on the 14th of July, Catherine Glenn Foster (president of a powerful anti-abortion group) said that allowing an abortion in such an instance of rape would not be considered an abortion at all because of the circumstances. Too bad this is not the case. The necessary medical procedure for that child was in effect an abortion, which in Ohio is already prohibited after 6 weeks without exception to protect the life or health of the woman.
