Y2K meets 2K22 🌸 In the beginning of my career back in 2003 I was the chunky highlight queen. I did so many of these a day I had to buy my foils in bulk from Costco 😂 I wanted to share with you my top 2 tips for doing chunky highlights. Peep the video for my love affair #BrassOff #matrixbrandambassador 🌸 Don’t take big sections. I know I know... chunky highlights= chunky sections, right? Noooo! Instead we want fine slices BACK to BACK with no hair in between. This prevents that dreaded bleed mark on the scalp and allows you to get right to the root. 🌸 Change up your pattern. Sometimes I do a few of 1 slice, leave out hair, then two back to back, leave out hair, then 3 back to back ect. Sometimes I switch it around (like I showed in this video) of chunky and not so chunky. The only rule is to make the thickest pieces at the front because that’s where you want all the brightness. It’s called the money 💰 piece after all! Have those bleed marks done you wrong? What did you do?
