According to Unicef(2019) 68% of all maternal deaths occur in sub-saharan Africa—the highest maternal mortality ratio in the world. Braveheart is committed to helping minimize the risk of death and severe illness for our "mamas in Africa" by providing resources and education to the expecting mamas in the villages we serve. Braveheart has implemented a "Mama Africa" campaign handing out free "Mama Kits" at our free pop up clinics throughout Uganda. Eack kit provides mamas with the opportunity to deliver their babies safely by preventing imminent bleeding and infection.
