all in time is Maria Maea’s attempt to complicate the singular narrative that Brown artists are given. The work is both abstract and figurative, heavily infused with visual cues from her Samoan and Mexican backgrounds and the punk DIY ethos of the Long Beach skate scene. An underlying theme throughout the show is the question of what happens when personal memory collides with community: memories are not always straight-forward or entirely truthful yet they define the identity of a family or group of people. .
