In honor of National Nonprofit Day, we’re celebrating the many wish kids who choose to use their wish as a way to give back to others. Meet wish kid Natalie. After going through a devastating cancer battle, Natalie knew that she wanted to use her wish to give back to her medical and social services team. “I want to be the sunshine in someone’s life just like the doctors and nurses were for me,” Natalie said. As part of Natalie’s wish, her care teams received a $5,000 donation. In addition, Natalie and Make-A-Wish launched the Knitting with Natalie campaign to encourage people across the country to knit hats for the homeless community.
