You’ve shaped me in more ways than you’ll ever know. You’ve always accepted me for exactly who I am, made my opinions feel valued and heard, and checked in when you could tell things weren’t right. Over the years the mail-lady has shown up with treasures of your handwritten notes, random magazine clippings, and dirtbag stories. I could go on and on of my appreciation of your true genuine heart, for it’s what makes me love you so much as a person. But damn, as a leader- I don’t even know where to start. It’s humbling to try to find the words. All I can say is, I wish you could stay in this world forever -even though I know that’s not possible. You have made so many of us better people in so many ways and I know I could say that even if I didn’t have the honor of our friendship. Because the choices that you have made in your life and business are exactly what made me start examining my own decisions more than I ever had before. I have to admit that over the years, every time you make a bold change in your life, It scares me at first. Because protectively, I already love so much of what you have done, so change always has a way of shaking me. But it never takes long to sink in, that every single out-of-the-box, bold move you make, you’re simply doing it because at the very center of your core, you know it’s the right thing to do.
