With over 5k likes and 70k+ accounts reached it can certainly feel rewarding in this modern world of screen recognition and instant validation. And yet, that (very vanilla) image also unearthed every f**ing troll, a** hat and thunderc*nt onto my feed with a never ending barrage of hate, disgust and death threats. •••• The act of having ‘Pride’ has only been a protected privilege for those who benefit from the wheelhouse of power and dominance. For people that look and love the way we do, having ‘Pride’ as a queer individual and joining in its actions of julbelnce is still a protest.
