HORMONE DISRUPTORS & SOLUTIONS •
-
There is now significant evidence that certain products disrupt hormone profiles in both men and women, young and old. I’ve listed here some of the major culprits and I know there are others, including certain BPA lined cans, and that it’s ideal to use reverse osmosis water filters (with remineralization), etc. BUT, I’ve listed here what I believe are the major culprits and some simple zero or low cost solutions.

I recently did an entire episode of the Huberman Lab podcast about microplastics and endocrine disruptors. That gets into more details and also emphasizes that there is no way to completely limit our exposure. But don’t despair, as you can limit exposure in meaningful ways. The slide above is a great start.

There’s also an episode of the podcast coming out with Dr Shanna Swan where she discusses additional things we can do and the impact of endocrine disruptors on testosterone but also PCOS and female hormone health more generally.
This is no longer a topic relegated to “woo-science”.
There are strong data thanks to Shanna and others.

You can find the episode on microplastics by going to hubermanlab.com
It is timestamped there in detail so you can navigate quickly to the topics most of interest to you.
The episode with Dr Shanna Swan will be out very soon!

Meanwhile, please put any questions or comments or suggestions about future topics that you’d like me to cover on the Huberman Lab podcast in the comments section below this post.

And as always, thank you for your interest in science!
