...Y’all I read my diary from 2 years ago and I think it’s time to discuss the art of 🧘‍♂️Emotional Detachment🧘‍♂️ The time has come for us women to start thinking more with our heads than with our hearts. Now to fully understand how emotional detachment works, we would first have to pick apart the various reasons why you may find yourself clinging on to people too fast or creating fairy tales in your head with someone you JUST met. Let’s start with your childhood! Majority of people who find themselves clinging on to someone early in the game, 9 times out of 10 has experienced some form of childhood abandonment. Fantasies are usually the first transit through the gates of Love & although they may be fun, It’s dangerous to jump into relationships assuming that every partner could be “the one” “your husband” “your boyfriend” etc: REGARDLESS of the bubble of potential you see that person sitting in, It’s still important to be mindful of your fantasies & your early expectations because those feelings are coming from a place of emotion and not logic. When you operate from a place solely based off of your emotion, you set yourself up to be in a playing field where you’re not seeing things clearly which could make you over look a lot of RED FLAGS 🚩🚩🚩🚩 Buy yourself some time and get a grip on your expectations and your fantasies. Stop surrendering your control over to people and allow them to WORK for that seat you so desperately want them to sit in. You deserve effort, consistency, and commitment. Don’t ever make it too easy babe. So take a look at whoever you’re attracted to or the person you’re “obsessed” with right now, what draws you to them? Can you find those same attributes in yourself? The very thing you can find attractive, is the very thing you must value in your OWN life first. To be excited & hopeful is one thing, but when your mind starts HUNTING for that opportunity you’re moving from a place of desperation and lack. Confidence isn’t just the key, it’s the whole door!
