REMINDER: be you. lean in. and stop trying to fit in to what anyone else thinks you should be. For years I apologized for who I was. I was told I was too much, too intimidating. Too scary and I would literally try to overcompensate. When I was younger walking the campus of my college I relished in being me. But Life happens and you begin to question your own essence. I remember @blackonblack giving me advice on my image telling me….this person you are being on instagram isn’t you. Your fierce. At the time I thought being me would cost me clients, friends, my boyfriend at the time. The truth was being anything other than me was suffocating me. It took many people abandoning me, rejecting me and shunning me to realize they were all mirrors. I had been rejecting and abandoning myself. When I began to embrace the real me…the darkness and the light that my entire life transformed. Embrace your differences, your uniqueness. Those people who are judging you aren’t you with your journey your experiences your wisdom your intuition. With potentially all good intentions if they are leading you away from being yourself they are leading you astray. Now of course this isn’t a license to be mean or self serving. It is an invitation to be all of your light and all of those things that you want to go after but are not being supported on. Being true to me has made me a better friend, better daughter, mentor, etc etc Remember that the more you step into your own divinity and your own magic the more the people in my life have supported me. I have learned to be vulnerable. From that, Old friendships have deepened. Old friends have reappeared. New friendships have emerged. Etc etc your true community will appear. If you have found my page then I discuss many topics but mostly those from my own journey which include: how to heal from a difficult childhood with lots of trauma, how to heal, how to reclaim yourself and repattern hyperindependence, how to practice self love and how to negotiate better relationships from a place of deep compassion understanding and grace for one another. #loveyourskin #selflovery #selfaware #selfreminder #selfmadewoman
