@jonbracey_alpinist earlier today coming up what I believe was pitch 8 or 9 of the Brown-Whillans, on the west face of the Blaitière. We rappelled from here, as we were just out to do some climbing “bin to bin.” This is a historic Chamonix route, with some cool pitches, but unfortunately I can’t enthusiastically recommend it. It seems that relatively recently (within the past 5 years, I would guess - probably someone knows?) there was some significant rockfall, from roughly the fifth pitch. As a result, all the ledges below this point, both on the route, and the approach ledges below, have a lot of loose rock and gravel on them. Surely it will clean up over time... hopefully before there is another major rockfall off the route! @patagonia_climb @petzl_official @scarpaspa @totemmt
