Seven years ago – September 9, 2015 – MDLT closed on our Quail Wash property. This acquisition was 10 years in the making and secured 690 acres of critical wildlife corridors adjacent to the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. This parcel was originally part of Joshua Tree National Monument when it was designated by President Roosevelt in 1936, though it was removed by Congress to support mining activity in 1950. The community rallied to protect this ecologically significant land when it came up for sale, eventually raising more than $10,000 to help fund the purchase. This property will eventually be conveyed to the National Park Service so this tranquil mountainous terrain and desert tortoise habitat will be forever protected.
