Gjelina, the Los Angeles restaurant lauded for its vegetable-centric menus, has finally opened its Manhattan outpost. The 1,700-square-foot space at 45 Bond Street, between Bowery and Lafayette Street, has been in the works for more than seven years. Named for owner Fran Camaj’s mother, Gjelina opened in Los Angeles’s Venice neighborhood in 2008 with pizzas and salads that highlighted seasonal produce. In Manhattan, the opening menu lists bottarga pizza ($26), a charcuterie plate where mortadella steals the show ($24), and a wine list heavy on natural wines. Will this popular, very Los Angeles restaurant make the same waves on the East Coast? That's for New Yorkers to decide. Head to the link in bio for more on Gjelina. ✍️ : @melissamccart 📸 : @rsietsema
