HL AW22 Holy Bible 📔 Inspired by the iconic French seaside resort of Cannes, the HATTON LABS AW22 collection pays homage to the promenade, de La Croisette, home of the Cannes Film Festival and most importantly, the third largest jewellery heist of all time. In 2013 jewellery owned by Israeli billionaire, Lev Avnerovich was displayed at the Carlton Hotel, Cannes. A selection of 72 jewels, 34 of which have been described as having exceptional quality, were successfully stolen from the premises with ease. Ironically, this was also the setting for the renowned Alfred Hitchcock classic ‘To Catch a Thief’, 58 years prior to the theft. All the cuts and colours of the stones within the AW22 collection are specifically based on the 72 stolen jewels from the heist, which have been re-imagined with contemporary silhouettes incorporating masculine designs, in contrast to their original femine fine jewellery origins. The heist has been described as the biggest ever in France, and possibly the biggest heist of all time to be accomplished with no arrests made.
