Charming, sexy, and funny, the queer rom-com “Fire Island” hits Hulu today! A self-aware tweak of Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’, “Fire Island” (fronted by a queer, POC cast and crew) actually began as a 10 chapter series for Quibi, but after that app went bust Joel Kim Booster (pictured with Andrew Ahn at last night’s @NewFest premiere of the movie in New York) reworked his script as a feature and Searchlight went for it. On GMA today, they asked Joel Kim Booster if he’s more Nancy Meyers or more Nora Ephron. Booster went with Ephron. “‘When Harry Met Sally’, it’s the end all be all,” he said.
