Will it ever stop? Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto is the latest to venture into the world of skincare, joining Scarjo, Travis Barker, and Brad Pitt, among countless other celebrities with no prior interest or professional experience in the beauty realm.
“I know I’m a student here, but I think that’s the best place to be,” Leto, 50, told Vogue ahead of the launch of Twentynine Palms. Despite saying he’s “never been really interested in beauty products,” the actor and musician nevertheless, decided to create an 11-piece range of products that are definitely already on the market.
“I’m interested in the idea of taking care of ourselves in the most natural way possible,” Leto continued. Inspired by his own wellness journey and the outdoor lifestyle at his home in Nevada, the Twentynine Palms is boasting the power of desert botanicals like prickly pear, and apparently... tumbleweeds?
Developed with Aesop alum Kate Forbes, the gender-neutral range includes products like the Desert Tumbleweed Cleansing Shampoo ($54), Rock Rose Clay Mask ($95), and Santa Ana Salve Facial Moisturizer ($87).
“This is just the beginning,” Leto said of his new venture, which will grow to include home and design objects made in collaboration with multidisciplinary creatives, as well as fragrance.
No word on whether the line will include beard products yet, but if not, that’s definitely more of a missed opportunity there.
