She began her career in her teens after being discovered in Rome. In the 1950s she starred in many Italian films. During the 1960s, Lisi appeared in comedies and participated in television dramas that were widely viewed in Italy. In the mid 60s, Hollywood was looking for “a new Marilyn Monroe” and Virna starred in this movie, How to Murder Your Wife with Jack Lemmon. She then starred in other American films with costars like Frank Sinatra, Tony Curtis, and Anthony Quinn.
