Last Saturday, our family dog @tokitheshihba crossed the rainbow bridge after battling lymphoma for the past 10 months. 10.5 years ago, he was born in Poland and shipped through UPS sitting next to the drivers to my parents in the Netherlands. While in the Netherlands, Toki got to explore lots in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany before moving to CA a few years later. In his early years, he was extremely independent and a master escape artist (running away 10 times and always finding his way home.) As he grew older, he stopped running away as much and enjoyed more time chilling next to his humans. He loved spending most of his days in the backyard chilling, taking long walks in our neighborhood trail where he could watch cows and goats graze, and begging for table scraps. When we got new puppies, he showed as much grace as he could to the little monsters (letting Truffles destroy his bed and toys and not attacking Loki when she bit his tail likely thinking it was a toy). The first few pictures in these series are taken on his last day where he took us on a 2 hour walk even though he was extremely sick. We miss him so much but are glad he’s not suffering anymore.
