Like all my reflections, this isn’t an absolute truth. Just something to, well, reflect on. Children internalize how they were treated when they were fully dependent. If they felt loved, safe, heard, and valued, not just provided for, there’s a strong chance they’ll carry that forward in how they relate to you when they’re older and more independent. Not out of obligation, but because love was modeled in a meaningful way. It’s a reminder to love intentionally now because that’s the part they’ll remember later.
