In honor of @maisonvalentino #LocòBag 🤍 I’m making a revelation that yes, you can call me loco for mixing leather with sustainable pleather (swipe). I am a vegetarian, and advocate for sustainable fabrics + practices, but transparently don’t know if I’ll ever completely eradicate leather goods from my collection. My current aim is to keep a realistic balance between leather goods and non-leather alternatives, because I do believe there is a durability aspect to leather handbags, but also am very excited & moved by the innovation happening in the sustainable fabrics & leather alternatives space (piñatex, cork leather, mushroom leather, etc.) This is a good reminder that what feels right to you doesn’t have to feel right to the next person, and that we all have our individual values & preferences that inform who we are and how we make decisions.
